Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just announced that Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete (pictured below) will arrive in the U.S. on June 2, 2009. According to Blu-ray, the film "will be presented in 1.78:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack in both the original Japanese and dubbed English languages," and contain the following special features:

* On the Way to a Smile - Episode Denzel (Animated Feature)
* Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII (Original Story Digest)
* Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII Compilation (Original Story Digest)
* Legacy of Final Fantasy VII (Featurette)
* Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (Trailer)
* Exclusive Sneak Peek at Final Fantasy XIII

We've highlighted the important bit above. Hopefully the "exclusive sneak peak" will be the demo present in the Japanese version of the film, but we wouldn't be surprised if it's just new footage. Either way, it's a win for gamers, though a demo would certainly be preferred.

Ever since Blu-Ray players and of course the PS3 came out, I never own a Blu-Ray disc movie. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete WILL be my first to start a Blu-Ray movie collection. =) Thank you for this announcement, I am now finally relieved to hear about it.

Once again the japanese get preferential treatment.

"sneak preview".  Blah.  I got a sneak preview of the game 3 years ago.
